Too easy. Making fun of a Michael Jackson game is just too damn easy.
On the one hand, I'd like to support the L4D2 boycotters, whom I agree with in theory, but I didn't buy L4D and wouldn't be losing anything if I picked up this version, if this is website on the level.
You put the stripper in AFTER you bake the cake, not before.
-How I miss you Futurama
But the Enthusiast manifesto is no where near as well written or compelling as the Boycotters. Repeatedly calling positions "stupid" and "obnoxious" is not an intelligent way to convince people you are right.

Yeah I don't think so.
I agree with lineup vs. lineup analysis. But it's a little disingenuous to compare Conviction's theoretical multiplayer mode to Uncharted 2's playable multiplayer mode.
It's eerily similar to GamesRadar's comparison of the theoretical awsomeness of vehicles of R2 versus the vehicles that exist in Killzone 2.
Only I think this guy is serious.
But not mindblowing. I've found several glitches, which I have dutifully reported, and there are definitely some balancing issues beyond the headshot damage problem.
It is quite good for a beta version of a game several months from completion though.
Every site is entitled to its opinion. I disagree with IGN's choices, but it's not like I agree with any one site all of the time anyway.
Alan Wake over Uncharted 2 though? I was under the impression AW had more of a lukewarm reception whereas Uncharted 2 knocked the socks off everyone.
But honestly, the Source engine is so tired at this point. I can't think of a single other AAA developer or game that uses a worse looking engine. If the Source is really the reason why their not developing on PS3, they should take time, and some of their massive quantities of cash, and build a new engine.
Or heck, they can just go license the CryEngine 3 and not have to worry about it. It's not like anyone plays a Valve game because their amazing engines.
What is Pachter's deal? The guys wrong like 80% of the time on all of his predictions, then he goes and says something we all know in our hearts is true, and then apologizes for telling it.
I watched that GT video, he wasn't ranting or being a fanboy, he just said that the PSP Go is overpriced and that Sony is charging more for a device that costs them less to build to take advantage of the people who are going to become early purchasers.
From a consumer standpoi...
Yeah all that cheering during that amazing Uncharted video was the work of plants and not video game journalists who would later name it as their game of E3.
...........oh wait
I think Valve is overrated. Just look at their recent history.
The Half-Life team has spent years making episodic content for Half-Life 2, to the point where each 5 hour expansion is treated like a game. Close followers will note that Valve proper didn't develop either Portal or L4D, and that those projects began outside the company and were subsequently bought and published with Valve's label on the box.
They're still using the Source engine which looked meh 2 ...
Usually games only get discounted this early when they're not selling well. I hope that's not the case because inFAMOUS is my favorite game of the year so far and it really deserves to be a success.
He makes a few assumptions I don't think there is quite enough evidence for, but there is definitely a lot of insight here, and maybe a couple of minor spoilers.
Yeah I think Uncharted had the best live demo of any game in the conference. GOW 3 was cool, but I get a real sense of deja vu when I see the character animations.
I'm glad Uncharted is getting the recognition it deserves though. UDF was like the sleeper hit of 07 so it's nice to know that this franchise is building up some buzz outside of those of us who were already rabid fans of the first.
I've been playing the beta a lot and I can attest to the fact that the technical problems are minimal. Yeah PS3 restarting is annoying but that won't be in the final game and the servers are working pretty damn well for me. From match to match the wait time beats the hell out of Killzone 2's 30 seconds of wait here and 30 seconds of wait there system.
Most of the problems I have are with the balancing of weapons, damage, speed, and some roll/cover confusion by the environment; ...
These kind of comments are why I bother reading them.
Why is Warhawk anywhere near a list like this?
And Killzone 2? Getting into the top 1% means spending a week solid playing, and winning, almost every match you can. (It might be possible once MW2 comes out and people stop playing though.)
inFAMOUS, Uncharted, Flower, Echochrome, Linger in Shadows, and Fallout should all be on this list.
Though at least they were smart enough to keep Wipeout HD off the list.
I've got inFAMOUS on the one hand which I want to platinum, the Uncharted beta on the other which is just plain fun, but all next week is finals so I really should study.
Decisions decisions.
Mass Effect? Or did they cut that because it's on PC as well?
